The above 11 character attributes are not intended to be an exhaustive list of terms defining character. In York Region, these attributes are regarded as starting points for personal betterment. They are also highlighted on a monthly basis, starting with Optimism in January, the month of December being left open for the selection of a favourite attribute. Their monthly acknowledgement is intended to increase awareness of all the attributes, and it helps provide structure to the initiative.
